About Karen Salinas Martinez
Karen Salinas Martinez was born in Mexico City, the location where she discovered and began her creative journey in art. She studied visual arts at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas (ENAP) part of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), obtaining a degree with a major in sculpture and printmaking.
In 2011 she won for the second time an award in the category of “Young Artist” from the state fund for Culture and Arts Program, supporting creation and artistic development in the state of Quintana Roo. She won with the project entitled “Nothing is true and nothing is but a lie”….“It all depends on the eye of the beholder”.
In addition to having served in teaching and art direction (design and production), Salinas has participated in various exhibitions in Mexico and Quintana Roo, where she has lived for some time. She was also involved since the initial creation of MUSA, supporting Jason de Caires Taylor as an assistant on his international projects. She currently works as a freelance visual artist, developing projects pictorial, photographic and sculptural.
